Excursion to Montezuma

Last weekend, six of our friends from different points in life all converged in Costa Rica at the same time! So we took a quick excursion to Montezuma, which is at the very tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. Somehow this was the first time we made it to the beach since we’ve been in Costa Rica– it’s like I’m down here to work on my dissertation or something 🙂

Baby Reed was happy we finally brought him to the beach so he could get his first taste of sand

We all stayed at an AirBnB that had a pretty great view of the sunrise over the gulf, with an epic howler monkey soundtrack to bring the sun up.

We also got to spend a day exploring Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve, which is Costa Rica’s first protected area!

It was quite the hike to get over to the beach, but it was definitely worth it in the end!

We also got to see Costa Rica’s 2009 Exceptional Tree of the Year on the way back from Cabo Blanco.

Exceptional indeed!

Baby Reed also got to enjoy his first ferry rides!

A great trip with some great friends! We are so lucky our buds came all the way to Costa Rica to spend time with us!
